The Cobb County Community Foundation, an Atlanta-based nonprofit, recently announced that it has donated another $97,000 to help families deal with the brunt of the pandemic.
Since March 2020, the foundation has collected about $418,000 through its Cobb COVID-19 Community Response Fund and Corporate Community Champion Program. Cobb Community Foundation distributed the latest round of grants to nearly a dozen local nonprofits that assist with food, housing and mental health.
So far, the foundation has handed out more than $411,000.
Cobb Community Foundation President and CEO Shari Martin said her organization looks for ways to assist other nonprofits to help stretch their dollars.
“While significant federal funding has been made available to assist those impacted most by the pandemic, there are gaps between how those dollars can be used and where needs remain,” Martin said.
Wellstar Health System, the Atlanta Braves Foundation and the S.A. White Oil Company are among the organizations to which Cobb Community Foundation provided the latest round of grants.
“The organizations receiving these grants have helped and are helping individuals and families to make it through this pandemic,” Martin said.
